der krustner liegt auf pill, einem kleinen weiler von moos im passeiertal. die erhaltenen steinkeller stammen aus der zeit um 1150. die gotische stube mit gewölbter bohlenbalkendecke, die tonnengewölbte küche und die kammern sind ebenfalls mittelalterlich zu datieren. 2005 wurde das haus durch harald haller restauriert bzw. eher stabilisiert und möglichst ursprünglich erhalten. Die ästhetischen und funktionalen zeitschichten sind allgegenwärtig. jedes bauteil ist geronnene pracht, aufgeladen mit geschichten. eine woche leben im krustner fühlt sich an wie eine zeitreise, der krustner als zeitmaschine. die phantasie reicht nicht aus, um sich vorzustellen, was diese räume für geschichten erzählen könnten, wenn sie es könnten – momente von ehrfurcht und vertrautheit stellen sich ein. erlebbar wird die bedeutung von permanenz in der architektur. ein ort mit nun fast 900 jahre lang belebten kammern und stuben. gebaute kontinuität, architektur als konstante hülle mit stetig wechselnden nutzern und nutzungsformen. auf dem kleinen melkschemel im hausflur haben unsere kinder ihre spiegelverglasten skibrillen abgelegt.

krustnerhof is situated in pill, a small hamlet in the valley town of moss in passeier. the preserved stone cellars date to around 1150. the gothic chapel and its vaulted beamed ceiling, the barrel-vaulted kitchen and the rooms are also medieval. in 2005, the building was renovated – or rather and preserved and restored as originally as possible – by harald haller. the aesthetic and functional layers of time are omnipresent. every element is steeped in history, charged with stories. living a week in krustnerhof is akin to embarking on a journey through the ages, the building your time machine. imagination is insufficient to conceive the stories these rooms would tell if they could speak – moments of awe and familiarity come to mind. the significance of permanence in architecture is palatable. a place with almost 900 years of living spaces and rooms. built continuity, architecture as a constant envelope with ever-changing users and forms of use. on the small milking stool in the hallway, our children have placed their mirrored ski goggles.
